Jennifer Maraston

Founder|Director|Family Advocate

Jennifer is the esteemed founder of Peace Beyond The Pain, and she is responsible for overseeing its daily operations. With a focus on providing the best possible support to each family, she works closely with them to ensure that their needs are met. Jennifer is a skilled Traumatic Grief Coach and Spiritual Life Coach, specializing in working with families that have suffered the loss of a child due to homicide. She is the mother of Peace Beyond the Pain Angel Jaquan Wyatt and has three other children. Jennifer's personal experience of loss has inspired her to create a safe haven for families in similar situations, and she is committed to helping them heal after experiencing such a traumatic loss. Her first-hand experience gives her a unique perspective on the financial concerns that families may face during these difficult times. She graduated from Houston Community College with an AAS in Real Estate and obtained her Real Estate Salesperson License from the State of Texas. Willie Pelt

Director of Pastoral Services

Willie oversees the ministry aspect of our organization and has over 40 years of experience in sales. He obtained his Certificate of Ordination from The Christian National Church and holds a Certificate of Chaplaincy from Lifeline School of Theology. Willie is a passionate individual who has served as the Senior Pastor of 2nd Immanuel Bible Fellowship Church for the past 11 years, and held the position of Sunday School Superintendent at The Cross of Christ Baptist Church for 5 years. He brings a wealth of experience and skills to our organization, helping it grow and succeed.

Jaila Taylor

Director of Youth Services

Jaila is in charge of developing and administering programs as well as creating lasting relationships for the youth division of Peace Beyond the Pain. She graduated from Lancaster High School and is currently pursuing her degree in Business Management at UNT Dallas. Jaila joined the team after the murder of her brother in 2019. Her motivation is to help others feel better about their situation, and she believes that young people connect better with other young people.

Carolee Furukawa

Treasurer

Carolee  Furukawa is responsible for the organizations financial assets and liabilities. Carolee attended UC Davis and obtained her Economics degree. She later received her MBA from the University of Southern California. Carolee has worked for Bank of America as a Credit Manager & Vice President. For Toyota Motor Credit Corporation she was the Treasury Operations Manager & National Account Manager.  Currently she works for Toyota Indutries Commerical Finance as the Director of Operations/Inside Sales & Dealer Intergration Trainer.  Carolee has also served as a volunteer with the 1736 Family Crisis Center.  Carolee joined Peace Beyond The Pain with the vision and drive to improve upon our Non-Profit Organization, and focused on developing the organization with experience and integrity

Stephanie Houston

Board Secretary

Stephanie Houston is an experienced professional with over 20 years in Customer Service/Management. She is responsible for managing and maintaining the records of the board, and is essential to the daily operations of our organization. Stephanie is also the founder of The Muhlaysia Booker Foundation, which supports transgenders who have been victimized by crime. Stephanie joined Peace Beyond The Pain to encourage, motivate, and love on other individuals that have lost their loved ones due to homicide.

Lesha Dansby

Chairman | Social Media Specialist

Kalesha, a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in the mortgage banking industry, chairs our organization's board meetings, ensuring effective governance. She works closely with our Founder to maintain operational excellence and is responsible for building and executing our organization's social media presence. A native of Dallas and a mother of three, Kalesha also served as a flight attendant for American Airlines for several years. She has firsthand experience of the grief associated with the loss of a loved one, having lost two immediate family members.
